A Beautiful Space for Your Community
Harmony United Church offers beautiful, wheelchair-accessible, multipurpose spaces available for community meetings, meals, celebrations, special events, and more. Located at 1 Shuniah Street in Thunder Bay, our building is well maintained, welcoming, and suited to a wide range of gatherings.
Whether you are planning a small group meeting, a community dinner, a youth program, or a larger event, Harmony's building is designed to serve the needs of the whole community — not just our congregation. We invite you to learn about our available spaces and contact us to discuss your needs.
Our Available Spaces
Our building includes several distinct spaces, each suited to different types of gatherings. All areas are on an accessible level and can be arranged to suit your event.
Our Sanctuary
The sanctuary, in addition to being our space for worship services, can also be rented for events such as music performances, lectures, weddings and funerals. A high-quality audio-visual system is installed and available.
Cameron Hall
Cameron Hall is suitable for study groups, presentations, meetings and social events such as coffee time after worship services. It is equipped with a TV monitor, tables and chairs.
Crittall Hall (The Gymnasium)
Our gymnasium, Crittall Hall, is a generous open floor space currently shared with community organizations, including Beavers and Cubs and Olive Tree Parish. It is well-suited to youth programs, fitness activities, community groups, and events requiring open floor space. It can also be used for lunches, dinners and presentations. Groups using Crittall Hall are asked to restore the space after each use.
Kitchen
A fully equipped kitchen is situated between the gymnasium and Cameron Hall, and is used to supply both rooms with food and beverages.
Library
Harmony’s library is a small room offering space for study or private conversations.
Already a Hub for the Community
Harmony's building is not just a church — it is already home to a range of active community organizations. This reflects our long-standing commitment to being a place where the wider Thunder Bay community is welcome.
Horticultural Society
The Thunder Bay Horticultural Society holds its monthly meetings at Harmony on the first Tuesday of the month. Their presence enriches our gardens and our community.
Beavers and Cubs
Harmony is proud to sponsor Beavers and Cubs, who use our gymnasium for their regular youth programs. Their activity brings energy and young people into our building.
Olive Tree Parish
Olive Tree Parish worships and gathers in our gym space. We are pleased to share our building with this congregation while they seek a permanent home.
