ABOUT
WHO WE ARE
A Welcoming, Energetic Community of Faith
Harmony is a 'bigger little church' — a congregation that has grown through coming together, and that keeps its warm, personal character even as it expands its reach. We enjoy time together, welcome visitors warmly, and seek to offer everyone a genuine sense of home.
Sunday worship at Harmony is intended to be positive and meaningful — a time for reflection, music, prayer, and community. Whether you are a lifelong churchgoer or visiting for the first time, you will find people who are genuinely glad you came.
No matter where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here.
OUR CALLING & BELIEFS
Called to Be Bold, Connected, and Evolving
The United Church Vision
Called by God, as disciples of Jesus, The United Church of Canada seeks to be a bold, connected, evolving church of diverse, courageous, hope-filled communities united in deep spirituality, inspiring worship, and daring justice.
Harmony's Commitment
At Harmony, we seek to live this calling by showing through our actions the love of Christ. Our theme — 'To show by deed the love of Christ' — is not a slogan. It is the standard by which we measure everything we do: in worship, in community, and in service to the wider world.
OUR PEOPLE
Harmony's Greatest Asset
A church is not simply a building or an organization - it is a community of people who care for one another, support one another, and walk together in faith. Harmony's greatest asset is its people: the congregation, the volunteers, the committee members, and the wider community.
Christine Paul
Church Secretary & Board Chair
Christine serves as both Church Secretary and Board Chair, providing steady administrative and leadership support to the congregation. Contact the church office at 807-345-5065 or harmonyunited@tbaytel.net.
Sandy Parisi
Music Director
Music has always been central to Harmony's identity — the name itself reflects it. Sandy Parisi leads our music ministry, nurturing the choir and the musical life of our worship services.
Worship Leader
Worship services at Harmony are led by a combination of Licensed Lay Worship Leaders, congregational volunteers, and occasional visiting ordained ministers.
Harmony is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors
and a dedicated network of committees
including Finance, Global Outreach, HALO, Property, and Worship & Education.
OUR DENOMINATIONAL HOME
Part of The United Church of Canada
Harmony United Church is a congregation of The United Church of Canada, one of Canada's largest Protestant denominations. We are part of the Canadian Shield Regional Council, which connects congregations across northwestern Ontario and offers shared support, resources, and connection to the broader national church.
The United Church welcomes people from many backgrounds and at different stages of faith. Harmony is part of this broad and diverse Christian family — grounded in scripture, open to questions, and committed to both personal faith and social justice.
